Marriage record... help with mother's last name

Post by Debid76 »

Hi,

I am looking for help with Antonio's mother's last name. I think it is his mother, first name looks like Maria to me. I was hoping a father would be listed, but I guess the "road block" continues.

Dates and occupations, if recorded, would be great also!

Record is on the left.

Thank you,

Deb

Unfortunately, the link doesn't work, it is cut in the middle.

Deb
In the record, it says, naturale di madre and at the bottom it says il consenso la madre naturale et suo figlio

So the mother is not named. It just says she was his natural mother and, on the bottom, that she gave her consent, as did he.

Deb,

I do not see a father for Antonio mentioned. It looks like naturale di Maria, or natural child of Maria. Perhaps he was born out of wedlock. I would look for his birth record and see if there is a father mentioned. I believe there is a mention of a marriage (or maybe it is saying there was not one) about his mother in the handwritten section at the bottom listing the documents presented. My Italian is limited so maybe someone else can tell you what exactly it says.

The marriage was recorded on 29 October 1881 and Antonio was 21 years old and a shoemaker.
