Record #121 for Carmina Montecalvo
Dated Nov 21, 1896 at 11:45 a.m. in the town hall of Frigento

Appearing was Nicola Montecalvo, age 24, peasant/farmer living in Frigento. He reported that at 5:25 P.M. on the 20th of the current month, in the house at #15 via Speranzella, a female infant was born to his wife, Angiolina Ciampi, a peasant/farmer, who was living with him. It was this infant whom he was presenting and to whom was being given the name Carmina.

Witnesses were Carmine Pelosi, age 48, a property owner, and Marciano Martone, age 26, a peasant/farmer.

The informant was illiterate and did not sign the document.

I cannot believe what I have been able to find. It is not always easy to read the mother's name, therefore, I have sent a lot for translation. But I am getting better at it and I will be more selective. I still have more birth records, and then on to the marriages which should not be as numerous.

Appearing was Vincenzo Cipriano, age 36, a peasant/farmer living in Frigento. He reported that at 8:40 a.m. on the 5th of the current month, in the house at #8 Contrada Massariola, a male infant was born to his wife, Teresina Montecalvo, a peasant/farmer who was living with him. He was presenting this infant to whom was being given the name, Marciano.

Witnesses were Giuseppe Melchiona, age 31, a property owner, and Carmine Pelosi, age 50, also a property owner. Both men were residents in Frigento.

The record was signed by the witnesses and town official. The informant did not sign, as he was illiterate.

Maybe you should try starting a new thread for your records that need translation. I don't know if that will help with the attachments or not.

Thanks, Erudita. I will try that. I have just got to the place where I will find grandparents. I did not know I would uncover so many records and I am trying my best to streamline the whole process, but I do appreciate all the help I have been given!
