Can someone help with interpretation of the birth act for Biago Ascenzio Domina?
The birth record is dated on May 25, 1875 at 10:22 a.m. in the town hall of Petralia Sottana. Appearing was Calogero Domina, age 23, a peasant/farmer living in Villaggio Castellane. He reported that at 11:10 P.M. on the 23rd of the current month, in the house at #33 via del Casino, his wife, Giuseppa Geraci, gave birth to a male infant named Ascenzio Biagio. The infant's father told the town official that he was NOT presenting this infant to him because of the long distance from the place of the birth, but was otherwise assuring him of the veracity of the birth. Witnesses were Giachino Domina, age 24, a peasant/farmer, and Mariano Spinuso, age 52, same occupation. Both were living in the above village, a frazione or hamlet of Petralia Sottana. The present act was read by the town official to all who had intervened and were illiterate.
Thank you so much for helping with this.
