Start with the consulate website. That will give you the basic outline of what is required. I find the website myitaliancitizenship.com also very informative.

the first thing to do is to determine if you actually qualify. No use pondering it unless you are a direct descendant of someone who was an Italian citizen at the time of your father, mother, or previous generation's birth. Good luck.
