Help with Allegati

Postby lapsang » 25 Sep 2013, 17:20

Hi,

I recently acquired marriage allegati from a town in Sicily. I am having a hard time reading the hand writing, and as this is my first foray into Italian records, I would appreciate having the typed version of the Italian instead of or in addition to a translation. I am rather linguistically inclined, so if I have the typed version, I can probably translate it. I just can't make out all the handwriting. Additionally, seeing the typed version would help me to learn the script better and understand how they write these records. (I'm used to German/Danish records, where's it's all tabular!)

There are 4 pages, and I'd be willing to pay for the service, I just don't know where to start. If someone could help me out, I'd be most appreciative.

The documents exist here, if you'd like a look: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/blafh5nnr57i99a/ees6ItJdfR

Thanks for any help.

You may want to purchase a copy of Trafford Cole's book on Italian records. Also there are tutorials for handwriting on http://www.familysearch.org website.

This is a link to the original record of the extracted one which appears on pages 3 (right) and 4 (left) of the allegati you posted. This should help you follow the record extract copy which is totally handwritten. Record #119, which begins bottom left. Erudita
