Carmela Rivotorto birth record

Postby samueljorlando » 13 Jan 2014, 18:24

First off, I must thank Wilberta Illig DiVincenzo for finding my great great grandmother's birth record. If somebody could please translate for me, I would be very grateful. I was given a slight recap "Dated 17 January 1883. She was found in the ruota - wheel - at a hospital in Bari at 10 o'clock the night before."

It is dated July 17th, 1883.
The declarant was Giovanni Sagges, who was the representative of the orphanage for the declaration of abandoned children.
He had the baby with him, and she looked to be one day old. She had been left in the wheel of the Hospital the night before at 10, and (maybe the words I use to translate are not the best...) there were four clothes and a red band, all with the initials "F.G.".
