Postby ItalianbellaSA » 25 Jan 2014, 20:45

Hi Everyone - Hope you are enjoying your Saturday. It is snowing in New Jersey - again!

I found this 1836 birth record for a Sebastiano de Gennaro and would like to have it translated. So far I have read:
Date: October 31, 1836
Name: Sebastiano de Gennaro
Father: Donato ? Age: 33 son of Matteo?
Mother: Giula Gadaleta Age: 33 daughter of ??
Further down in the record it reads: ...alla presenza di Niccolo de Gennaro... (who would this be and why would it be on the record?

Here is the link:

Thank you for any assistance! And, have a great day!
It is hoped that the research I am doing helps to discover, preserve and celebrate my family history.

Date: October 31, 1836; birth on the 30th
Name: Sebastiano de Gennaro
Father: Donato yes? Age: 33 son of Matteo yes?
Mother: Giula Gadaleta Age: 33 daughter of ?? Sebastiano
Further down in the record it reads: ...alla presenza di Niccolo de Gennaro... and Onofrio Bufo were witnesses to the declaration of the birth and presentation of the infant at the town hall (who would this be and why would it be on the record?

This infant was a twin. Check the birth record which precedes this one for a Matteo born to this same couple.

Baptism on Nov 1st

Always fun to discover twins in the ancestry. You're very welcome.
