help deciphering bride's father's first name

Post by dmt1955 »

these records are very challenging - the film was poorly photographed, with most being out of focus.

this is the marriage act of my GGG Grandparents, Francesco Troisi and Mattia Bruno.
i am trying to decipher Mattia's father's name. it looks like it begins with 'Gio' or 'Giu' but after that it's up for grabs.

this is the index list - entry #12.

this is the act

is it Giuseppe and for whatever reason it is abbreviated?

any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

FYI - Your index link is not working :-(

On the record, which has terrible "bleed-through" I see Giosuè or Gesuè - both are male given names.
