Uncertain marriage record; unusual format. Need translation

Postby sleone1981 » 07 Feb 2014, 00:10

Hello All,

I do not usually ask for help with translation of records. If they are in a recognizable format, I can usually pick out the information I need. However this one is a little different and I think it pertains to a direct ancestor. I would appreciate help translating this one.

I was looking through Sclafani Bagni marriage records from 1863 when I came across this record. It appears to reference a couple, Giuseppe Chimento and Eva di Stefano, who are part of my family. However, I thought they were married in 1848 (due to the ages of their children). And this record is not in the standard format. Is it some sort of addendum or note about the couple and not a true marriage record?

Giuseppe Chimento and Eva di Stefano had a clandestine religious marriage on 1848 Aug 23, with this record, dated August 18 1863, they requested that the marriage be recognized and transcribed in the Civil State Register.
