1810 Nicola Varricchione Death Record

Postby Haztek » 02 Apr 2014, 21:57

This one is very tough to read.
Would like verification of the following:
Nicola Varricchione, age 50, profession of bracciale, reported 6 April 1810

Also, can anyone read the names of his parents or any other info?
Thanks, jerry

Hi Jerry-
Really difficult record. I imported it into Picassa but that really hasn't helped. I do see something before Nicola's name in the record and I can't tell if Nicola is his middle name and he had a different first name, or if it is the name of a place. I see the father's name as Nicola. For the mother, I see the abbreviation for the title Donna (lady) and then I see Anna Mag (can't read the rest, but some surnames from Cervinara with this beginning are Magnotta, Magnotti, or Maglione. I really can't read what is after the Mag). I also see the name Biaggia possibly followed by Cincotti, but I can't really say for sure that Cincotti is correct. The name Biaggia is separated on two lines, but there appear to be two names preceding the beg of Biaggia. I think this was his wife, as I believe I see the word marito before the names.

Hopefully someone has a better photo program that will allow them to make better adjustments to the record. As it is, it is only guesswork on my part, as to the info in it.

Erudita,

I think I might have the wrong Nicola Varricchione. On Rosa Varricchionne's death record,a daughter, her father is listed as Nicola and her mother as Carmina Perrotta.

Thanks for your help.

The father on this death record is definitely Nicola, but I see a capital D with a small "a" up in the air which would be the abbreviation for the title Donna and then I see the name Anna followed by the Mag (as the beg of her surname). That much was clear to me when I imported the record into Picassa and zoomed in on it. I'm hoping the correct record will be a lot easier to read.
