Matassa surname help

Postby bvbellomo » 10 Apr 2014, 18:49

I while ago, I asked about Luiggia Giglio's mother's surname on this board:

I have since found a marriage I believe to be the same surname, with much better handwriting:

I am trying to determine how likely it is the names are the same. I don't have this part of my family mapped out very well, but Librizzi is not a common name in Polizzi. It is the mother's surname of Clara Zavatteri. Clara is godmother to at least 1 'Bellomo' ancestor and also married several husbands with surnames that seem to tie to Luiggi Giglio's family.

On the second link, Giuseppe Librizzi's mother is Salvatora Matassa while the mother of the bride is Lorenza Cascio

Here is the link to the first document.

The name of deceased Giglio's mother looks like Anna Mastruzza(?)
