Occupation Help - Calcinajo?

Postby bvbellomo » 29 Apr 2014, 18:34

Can anyone tell me Vincenzo LiPani's occupation in this record? It looks like Calcinajo to me, maybe something to do with lime?

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-27335-975-48?cc=1947613&wc=MDB8-MP8:245879501,245903901

This record is a mystery for me, since the age of the father (36, should be 42) and the mother's surname (Ciraulo) do not match other records (Lima) but I know they are the same people because they are together in the same allegeti. I am not 100% certain the mother's surname is actually Lima, just that surname is most commonly used for her on her records.

Birth act of Antonina Lipani, daughter of Vincenzo (36 years old, "calcinaio" = mortar maker) and Gandolfa Ciraolo (33 years old), born in Polizzi on 15 Mar 1843

The only explanation is that Gandolfa Ciraolo (Antonina's mom) died and Vincenzo Lipani married a second wife Gandolfa Lima.
