occupation translation

Postby rfiorille » 20 Sep 2014, 17:23

I would appreciate expert eyes to decipher the occupation listed here:

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

after "Cristoforo di Donato di anni trentotto", in atto numero 32. It looks perhaps like "guardiere municipale"

Thank you!

"Guardia municipale" means "town policeman"

Thank you so much for you help Marcello! My guess is that "Guardia municipale"/"town policeman" would explain this photo. No?

Thank you Tessa. I just wanted to be sure. According to some other records I've come across with Cristoforo, he was also the town barbiere. I think that could explain the impressive moustache! Great photo of your GGF! Thank you for sharing!
