1878 Atti di Nascita - Giovanni Mulé

Postby malsbury » 04 Nov 2014, 02:28

I have been working my way through the birth records and seem to have found one for a Mule' brother that was not mentioned in my 2x great grandfather's obituary. The text is clear enough that I see that the parents are Maria Grazi Fruscione and Placido Mule' so I am confident that this is the correct family.

I am curious if this record contains any information not contained in the previous records I have found, and am also hoping this will add another data point to narrow down Placido's age.

Thanks.

Hi Thomas

Dated Feb 27, 1878
Appearing was Grazia Mistretta, age 88, midwife in Villalba. She reported that at 5 a.m. on the 24th in the house on via Maggiore (without a number), Maria Grazia Fruscione, age 36, a weaver, gave birth to a male infant named Giovanni. Her husband Placido Mule' was age 54, and a peasant. Witnesses were Carmelo Favato, age 44, peasant, and Sebastiano Russo, age 54, also a peasant. The document was only signed by the town officials, as the others did not know how to write.

Erudita -

Thanks once again. I can't tell you how exciting all this information is. Finding these records, and with your assistance in the translations, I have pushed through what everyone else in my family has considered a brick wall of lost information.

You're very welcome, Thomas. Hopefully the earlier records for the town will be online one of these days.

[UPDATE] Maria Grazia's maiden surname has been revised to Guccione using additional record samples
