Scott, the deceased in this record is Antonina Carioto not Galioto. They possibly have made an error and it was suppose to read Galioto? The entry appears in the index as Carioto as well.

Death Record No 369: Antonina Carioto (of deceased Onofrio)
Dated 27 December 1893, 11.10 am, Termini Imerese.

Antonina Carioto, age 75, housewife, born and residing Termini, daughter of the late Onofrio and the late Agata Fasone died (yesterday) 26 December 1893. She was the wife of Francesco Carioto.

Thanks Angela Yes it does say Carioto Birth and Marriage Shows Galioto. Not sure why that name has came in and out of the entire family of the Galioto though out the 1800's.

Your welcome. Interesting that she married a Carioto as well. Were they distant cousins maybe?

I think that this was very common although I understood that it was illegal? My cousin who is much older than me married her first cousin. A close friend of mine who is of Egyptian/Italian extraction married her first cousin and that was as recent as 25 years. I know of other instances as well.
