D'Avino, Mariangela Birth

Postby dmurphy1940 » 07 Jan 2015, 21:24

Numero 56.

I can use some help with the translation!

Father is Giuseppe D'Avino
Mother is Maria Michela Cipriano
Both lived in Frigento, Contrada Fontana, I cannot read the number

Was there a midwife, I do not see where the father emigrated to America if he did.

Hi Dolores
Yes, there was a midwife. e` comparsa Maria Varriale, trentacinque, levatrice (age 35, midwife)

Contrada Fontana Michele al numero quattordici (#14)

on the next page, 4th live above signatures-il non ha potuto dinunciarla perche` emigrato nelle Americhe (he (the father) couldn't announce it (the birth) because he had emigrated to the Americas)

Happy New Year

Erudita, I didn't look close enough to see it on the next page, levatrice is midwife?

Now all I need is the birth date!
Grazie,

Dolores

Hi again Dolores

yes, levatrice is the word for midwife

date of birth: anti meridiane dieci e minuti quindici del di venticinque del corrente mese-

literally -"a.m. 10 and minutes 15 of the day 25 of the current month" -so the 25th of the current month (May) at 10:15 a.m. Yes, the year is 1901
