And it looks as though Carmine signed his own name.

Dolores

The correct street name is Contrada Lappierti. I found someone in the current Italian phonebook with the name Antonio Genua living in Frigento on via Lappierti.

Thank you Livio, I still have "miles to go"...:)

Thank you Erudita, are there any Montecalvo(s) listed in the Frigento phonebook? I would like to try writing again to see if I get a reply.
Grazie,

Dolores

Dolores
Only see one Montecalvo in the current Italian white pages, but these are people with land lines, so there could be more in the town.

MONTECALVO ANTONIO
Via Giovanni Palatucci 6
83040 Frigento (AV)
Italia
tel: 0825 444524

By the way, you had another record a few months ago with the Lappierti address in it.

Thanks for both, Erudita. I wrote to Antonio but never received a reply.... :(

It seems like the Montecalvo(s) phased out in Frigento, I hope not!

You're welcome, Dolores. I even checked on facebook to see if there was anyone with the Montecalvo surname there who was in Frigento, but I didn't get any hits. Sorry. Maybe you should write one more time, in case your previous letter wasn't received. Snail mail to Italy can be very slow. Did you write in English or in Italian? If the individual is from an older generation, he may not be able to read English. Often younger generations relocate to the bigger cities to attend universities and may stay in those cities after completion of their studies to work. They make trips back to their native towns to visit family members, but maybe not that often. Unfortunately, I don't see an email address for Antonio, which would make things a lot easier.

Erudita, I checked my paperwork and I wrote him three times, twice in 2013 and again in October 2014. I wrote in Italian. He apparently has no interest............. :(
Grazie,

Dolores
