Record #50
Request for publication of banns of marriage for
Giuseppe Clement and Raffaela Colatrella
Dated 18(?) July 1874 at 6 PM in Bagnoli Irpino
Before the official appeared
Giuseppe Clemente, age 27, and Raffaela Colatrella, age 19, both peasant farmers residing in this town. The first is son of Paolo, and of Rachele Ianiello, peasant farmers residing in this town; and the second is daughter of Gennaro(?) and of Irena Miale(?) both peasant farmers residing in this town.
They requested the posting of banns of marriage in the town. Giuseppe presented an extract of his birth act which indicates he was born on 31 January 1847, and Raffaela presented an extract of birth which indicates she was born on 8 February 1855. These extracts were given to the official.
Present were the parents of the bride to given their consent.
The banns were to be posted on the 19 and 26 of the current month on the door of the town office.

Thanks so much T-
I was wondering would you know where the actual act of the marriage be recorded?
Would that be something with the Church?

It would be in the civil records of the town of Bagnoli Irpino.
Unfortunately, they do not appear to be online.
However, a look at the microfilm holdings of the LDS Family History Library shows that they have the Marriages on microfilm 1867-1910.

Look for the marriage records after 26 July 1874 (that was the second posting of the banns). The marriage USUALLY took place soon after that. :-)
