General Question about Record Books

Postby dita531 » 28 Jan 2015, 19:55

I've been looking at the death records for Laurenzana and I noticed that there are some records between the regular records and the index, Part II.
For example the 1878 Death book:

Death 1878 pages1397-1473 records #1-256
Index page 1471

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-33345-6831-71?cc=2043547&wc=M795-QTL:392227201,392377701,392386601

It looks like the last paragraph is always by the person who wrote the book but in part 2 you'll see records #1 -5.

Thank you!

If I understand what you mean, part II contains (among other kinds of records) the transcription of death declaration of people residing in the Commune, who died in other Communes. The last paragraph you mention is the "closing" of the register by the Registrar, to avoid a successive unauthorized appending of other records.
