Gipella ?

Postby rosagiovanna » 08 Aug 2005, 03:21

:?:

In a letter written by my grandmother in the 30's in the US (Boston), she refers to having to attend the funeral of her father's oldest son (her half-brother), whom she refers to as "il Gipella." Does anyone know what that word means? His name was Augustine, I believe, and our family was from the Genoese region.

Thanks.
