Domenica Ciampa No 22
Recorded 14 April 1880, 9.05 am, Rapone
Pietro Pinto, 34, mugnaio (miller) and Nicola Sacino, 33, peasant farmer, both living in Rapone reported the death of Domenica Ciampa, age 72, peasant farmer, born and residing Rapone. He died yesterday (13 April) at 5.20 am at a house in Via San Pietro No 40. He was the son of the late Antonio, farmer (the record says “fu (the late) Francesco) but this is crossed out with a footnote added at (a) which basically says that the words crossed out at line 13 are being replaced by “fu Antonio”: “fu Antonio, due parole sostituite a quelle ? al verso tredici”). The mother was the late Giovanna Savone. Domenica was the widow of Giovanni Pinto.

Thank you Livio. I was wondering what that word was. Cancellate (deleted).

Thanks for the help--so, you mention in the translation--Domenica--"He" died, "he" was the "son" of Antonio, etc. But then say Domenica was the "widow" of Giovanni. Is Domenica a female?
