Maria Serafina D'alberto
Re: Maria Serafina D'alberto
Record #15
Date: Feb 13th, 1815 at 3pm
Declarant: Angela Rosa Caldarola, 52 years old, midwife
Birth time: Feb 12th, at 10am
Mother: Angela Rosa d'Alberto, 29 years old, living in Loreto
Father is not mentioned. I think she was unmarried, and hers was an illegitimate child.
While in "normal" cases they write "a child was born to", in such cases, I noticed that it is often used the sentence "<mother's name> si è sgravata". That literally means "she got free of a weight"; as if it was a reference to her "sin".
