died 11 Dec 1870 at the hour of 9, age 76, both parents deceased, husband of Caterina La Chiarella? (I am not 100% sure about surname).

Sessantasei - obviously a typo. Caterina's surname could also be La Chiaretta - but maybe it is just bleed through that's making it look like there are two letters "t". Or it might be something else completely different. The two middle letters are not so easy to decipher, but I suspect the second of the two would be a vowel.

Angela...thanks for catching that typo! I, also, was unsure if there was bleedthrough or some other stray mark that looked like "...retta."

stokkster1..you are welcome

Happy to help, Donna. The surnames Chiarella and Chiaretta (without the La) appear in Palermo. I notice that Chiarella has appeared in other records in this town so it possibly is more likely to be that. There is, however, a street in the town called Chiaretta?

Angela :)
