This is a little bit "off-beat", excuse the pun, but is this to do with genealogy or music. I'm clearly reading the words "blous" which means "blues". I see the word "statuario" after it which is "statuary" which fits into the "rhythym and blues" theme. Ofcourse, this just might be a coincidence, and/or the word might not be "blous" but that's what I'm reading. Maybe someone else can make more sense of it.

I believe that it is meant to read " un blocco statuario..." A block of staturary

There are famous marble quarries on Monte Altissimo in the Seravezza Territory. The note mentions "Il Monte Altissimo a Seravezza..." and I think it describes the transport of statuary marble block.
Could this be a notation on the back of an artist's rendering? I say that because Fannie Drexel Paul was known for her artistic talents (note says "copied 1878-9 by Fannie Drexel Paul)

Just my thoughts! :-)

I knew that I was taking a risk with my interpretation - "rhythym and blues" 1878/9 :? I was struggling to decipher all the words, and ofcourse, now that I read Tessa's interpretation, it all looks very clear. I believe that Tessa's intepretation is correct. Well done, Tessa.
