Latin Marriage Record...

Postby jestes » 24 Jul 2016, 04:20

I am starting to get the hang of the Latin birth and death records, but now I come across a marriage record (of Ciro Patrinostro and Rosa Scaglione). Could someone kind of walk me through the format of these?

Ciro's parents are Giuseppe and Anna Maria (can't quite read her last name!). Rosa's were Francesco and Antonina Guastella.

Thanks,
John

Dated Feb 13, 1763. Banns of marriage were on Jan 30th and Feb 2nd and 6th and resulted in no impediments to the marriage.

Groom: Ciro Patrinostro, single, legitimate and natural son of dec Giuseppe Patrinostro and dec Anna Maria Caltabellotta, who had been spouses in this town when they were living

Bride: Rosalia Scaglione, single, legitimate and natural daughter of deceased Francesco (Scaglione) and living Antonia Guastella, who were spouses of this town.

Witnesses were Antonino Ficarrotta, son of Vincenzo Francesco (Ficarrotta), and Calogero Scozzari

Thanks Erudita!
That does help a lot. Also I was leaning towards the name being "Caltabellotta," as that is another town in Agrigento.
