Pampalone - Vivona Marriage Index

Postby sacesta » 27 Aug 2016, 00:23

I'm looking for the marriage record of Domenico Paolo Pampalone and Rosalia Vivona. In the index that covers the years of their probable marriage I found the couple highlighted below. The bride's name looks to me to be Rosalia Vivona, and the groom is definitely a Pampalone, but his first name looks like Didacus. Other grooms on this index have the name Domenico. Is it possible that Didacus Pampalone could be the Domenico I'm looking for?

Going back to Domenico's daughter's (Antonina) record of marriage, I now see that Domenico Paolo Pampalone is not Antonina's father. I think maybe her father's name is Don ???? Pampalone. Does his name look like it could be Didacus to you?

Hmm, I just found Didacus Pampalone in the index for baptisms also. I hadn't been able to locate Domenico Paolo Pampalone's record of baptism either. I think Didacus may be the man I'm looking for. I won't be able to search the records until I can get into the FHC on Wednesday. I scan the index pages for individuals I'm looking for based on their first name and the general time frame in which I expect to find their records. That gives me precious time to scrutinize the index pages at home and adjust the contrast if necessary.

Now I'm wondering where I even got Domenico Paolo's name from.

Can someone tell me the Italian translation for the name Didacus?

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks Erudita!
Do you think Antonina Pampalone's name reads Don Didacus in the marriage record above?
