Marriage No 19: Giuseppe Ballato and Providenza Piscitello
Santo Stefano di Camastra: 16 October 1880, 9.30 am

Groom: Giuseppe Ballato, 29 yo, contadino (peasant farmer), born and residing this town, son of deceased Antonino, and of Basilia L'Abbate, residing this town.

Bride: Providenza Piscitello, 29 yo, Industeiosa/Industriosa (manufacturer/trader), born and living in this town, daughter of the late Nicolo', and of Angela Maglio, residing in this town.

Witnesses:
Salvatore Lo Re, 32 yo, bracciale (farm hand/laborer) and Rosario Consentino, 34 yo, vetturale (cabman)

Marriage banns were posted in this town on 26 September and 3 October. Both groom and bride were illiterate so unable to sign the marriage document.

Marriage Banns are here: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2120739 which gives additional information: Basilia L'Abbate was a contadina (peasant) and Angela Maglio was a filatrice (seamstress/cotton spinner/worker). The spelling of Providenza's occupation in this document is “industriosa”.
