Silly spelling questions!

Postby Poipuo4 » 10 Apr 2007, 15:09

On some documents for the same person, I have Guiseppe and on other Giuseppe. Are these both correct spellings or is only Giuseppe the correct one? (Told you it was a silly question).

Giuseppe is the correct spelling. The Guiseppe variation could have resulted from a typo, transcription error or whatever.

Here's a handy link to bookmark.

Thanks, Biff! It was even hard to tell from his own handwriting because the dot over the "i" sometimes looked like it was over the "u."

Guiseppe is a common misspelling in US. The correct name is Giuseppe, which translates into Joseph.
