Just a word of warning. There have been several cases of fraudulent e-mails 'supposedly' from the Poste Italiana this is how I answered the request for 'info' on another 'English' forum:

Default Re: Email from Poste Italiane - Translation Please
Hi Robert,
Hope this helps, but I have noted one phrase (in red) that seems 'a bit odd' . The use of the word recycling (riciclaggio) followed by a mispelled word transparenza). The right spelling should be 'trasparenza' and the word 'recycling' is totally out of place here. If I were you I would check with a post office - or get someone to do it for you. The letter does sound very official, but they're asking you to resubmit(?) your details on the link provide by them!!!!
To me - and I hope I'm wrong - it's sounds a bit fishy!

TRANSLATION:
Dear Customer,
During a project of verification of the details entered by you when joining the Posteitaliane services an error was noticed relating to those details provided by you at the time of signing the contract.Altering of details already entered can cause the interruption of service according to the art. 135 e 137/c accepted by you at the moment of signing, in addition to constituting a crime punishable by law according to C.P.P ar.415 del 2001 regarding the law against the recycling and the clarity of the details provided by you as a self certification.
To get around this problem it is necessary to verify the updating of the details relative to the personal data of the nominee of the Postal services.

You can carry out the update of your details by clicking on the following secure link:

Yes, you're almost certainly right 'vj'.

They (?) are sending these e-mails to anybody - in the hopes of finding a few who actually have accounts with Poste Italiane OR don't really understand the request and just furnish the details requested on the 'supposedly' SAFE SITE!!!!

I think I received another one from "Banco Roma" I deleted it and reported it as Junk Mail. Would there ever be any legitimate commincation from Italy arrivng by e-mail? I find it unusual, since the last commincation I sent was in 2005!

Sounds like the same kind of communication....What do you think?
