Help with translation in Cosenza/Lappano

Postby catalanodeedee » 12 Jun 2007, 21:45

My daughter is going to Cosenza tomorrow and wants to go to Lappano from there to see where our family came from. I haven't found anyone in Lappano who speaks English. I was hoping she would find a young person at the hostel but no luck so far. Any ideas?

It may be too late, but did you try to PM any of the Italian natives on this board, such as ricbru (Ricardo) or Sunaj? They may have some suggestions. If it puts you at ease, when we visited our ancestral towns, we only knew Berlitz type Italian and how to conjugate some important verbs such as "to be" and "to have." That was enough to engage people in basic conversations and to search for family members.
