Translation Help!

Post by Chaos7002 »

I hope someone can help me translate this response letter and maybe write a reply back.

Giuseppe De Rosa

That is what he wrote back, I know is says something like it is a bit busy to find any connection now but maybe over the Christmas holiday and do I have a date. (not in those exact words but close too it I think) Any help would be great

Hi Chaos,

You have the translation correct - he won't have time to search until Christmas and he also would like to get the date of birth of your great grandmother so he can carry out a more thourough search and he will be waiting for your letter with that information.

Someone who is more fluent in Italian than I will need to help you compose your letter.

Regards,
Elizabeth

Hi I'm Davide De Rosa, one day your letter arrived, unfortunately I don't know Maria Giuseppa De Rosa and neither do my family. The only person that may be able to help you is Antonio De Rosa, Via Acquaviva, Salerno 84069 Italia, try writing to him, he could go back over your family because he works in the Comune of Roccadaspide. Because of the right of privacy they will not give us any information. Do let me know if you manage to find any news and if you are coming to Italy to find us. Good Luck
