immersion programs

could anyone recommend a good italian language immersion program? I'm in college and have a few friends that became fairly fluent in languages doing different summer programs. The best would be one located in puglia so i could learn a dialect closer to what my family speaks.

Ask the Italian Language Dept at your college--or call the Italian Depts at the college of your friends who've had good results! Good luck, Peggy M

Be careful which courses you choose. A retired American I know came to Italy having signed up for courses in Italian in various parts of Italy. What a waste of money. The courses were geared to the average level of the students enrolled. Since she was a raw beginner she was always out of her depth. Most of the students were language students and seemed to pick up the language much easier than she did.
