Need help reading ancestor's signature

Post by Veritas »

Can anyone please help me to read the first name of this signature? I know that it is some form of Bartolomeus, but I am having difficulty reading all of the letters. The first six read as 'Bartol' to me. The 7th letter looks like an 'a', followed by an 'm', not sure of the 9th letter, last letter looks like 'o'. Surname looks like 'Gironimi'.

I need to translate this signature in order to write to the civil authorities to obtain a birth certificate. If I am unable to translate the first name exactly, will they search for more than one name? Should a copy of this signature be included?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Looks like:

BARTOLOMEO GIRONIMI

It can't hurt to include a copy of this signature.
