Villa in Tuscany

Postby fgiove » 01 Sep 2008, 21:57

I am interested in renting a small viila or apartment in the Tuscany area for four adults in the fall of '09, ie late Sept. early October. We would be staying for two weeks. Any ideas?

The parker house at 800-280-2811, www.theparkerhousecompany.com is upscale and US based and the other is advertising their fall listings in Tuscany, www.odina.it and seems to be geared toward germans since they advertise italian/german.

I would also think about seeking (thru the above) or local real estate people in Fiesole about an apartment or small place in a small town at the end of the 20 minute bus line from RR station and Piazza duomo in downtown Firenze called SETTIGNANO which is Michaelangelo's hometown and his family house is still up and about. It's lovely white church, big tree in piazza at end of busline and very comfortable nice couple of restaurants so you can walk home drunk on that marvelous tuscan wine. Its up above the arno valley and the whole valley can be seen from the area and the big square in nearby Fiesole with the entire city of Firenze at your feet. You can commute to Rome on the 7-8-9-10AM 2 hour super express to Rome and they return hourly to Firenze in the evening; same 2 hour super express. Bus is waiting there at the station and save a whole pile of money for hotels in Rome. =Peter=

Postscript: thereis a restaurant/villa in Settignano called Capponcina that has the ability for youto call them free of charge. Go to yubuk.com/toscana/firenze/ristorante/la_capponcina/141307

The owners speak english and will give you first hand information and their food is great and wine better.=Peter=
