SANTA CESAREA TERME

Postby adalea » 08 Jun 2009, 03:39

I was told that my great-great grandmother was married in a town (not too far from San Ferdinando Di Puglia in the Foggia region) known for their "healing waters". They said the town was spelled something similar to "Ceasar" or "Circus". The only place I can find known for their healing waters is Santa Cesarea Terme. I was also told that the church they were married in "overlooked the water" and had something to do with "MARY", either a statue of Mary at the church or MARIA/MARY in the name of the church.

There is a church or two with the name MARIA in them, in the villages of Cerfignano and Vitigliano within Santa Cesarea Terme, but i'm not sure if they overlook the water.

Does anyone have any idea if this could be any other place besides Santa Cesarea Terme? Also, does anyone know the name of the church described?

warm regards,
Anna
