Corbara, Sessa Aurunca, Caserta Italy

Postby misschristi16 » 30 Jun 2012, 18:52

This town is the home town of my Great Grandfather. I am curious if I can find a map of the town or something as it appeared in 1850's? Also, I have been trying to locate the parish they were part of in that town, and I was wondering if there was a sight that lists the parishes from that time frame to 1900 and maybe how to get ahold of some of the registries from this parish to see if My greatgrandfather is listed.

The church is called: S. Clemente
ITALIA » CAMPANIA » CE » Corbara di Sessa Aurunca Via Chiesa

I am not sure if there were other Catholic Churches in this town, so maybe someone knows how I can research the Church History to this particular town

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Parrocchia S. Bartolomeo
84010 Corbara (SA) - Piazza Armando Diaz
Tel 081.930304

is the only parish listed on the towns website. http://www.comune.corbara.sa.it/index.p ... ndex&p=217

Its possible that the old records were transferred there.

Old maps are not easy to come by. You could try the town's URP (Public relations office) they might know where to get one from. You shoud know that if you are trying to track down an address shown on an old birth record, they seem to change the street name and/or numbering every census. It drives me crazy.
