Hi Sandro, these two towns are really very small and are in a beautiful place in the mountains. Today people go there for vacation both in winter and summer but in the past life was very hard in the mountains. There are no hospitals there, the nearest hospital is in Chiavenna. In the range of years you mentioned women were not going to hospitals to give birth to their children. Women were usually helped by an older woman or a midwife.
