Palazzo Infantino

Postby mtoth1982 » 01 Sep 2013, 17:06

Ciao,
Recently, I found out that there is a palace in Spinoso called Palazzo Infantino. My ancestors came from this town and we're named Infantino. Could this Palazzo have once belonged to my ancestors? Does it prove a possible noble connection?

Grazie,

Matt

Matt,
unfortunately, one of the first rules for genealogists is: never assume that same surname means same family. Even if they are from the same town, you should find the connection between the family who owned the Palazzo and yours.
Moreover, ownership of a "Palazzo" (as rich as you want) does not mean nobility by itself in a strict sense. It might even just be the sign of family wealth.
Anyway, at this point, it can't be excluded that your family is connected to a noble one, but you have to carry on the search to know.

Agree, I have BERGAMINI ancestors who live in a small town. One of the main streets is Via Bergamini. My ancestors have no relationship with the Bergaminis for whom this street was named.
