Need help to figure out which region/province
According to the ship manifest, the last residence was South Villanova Sel B., Italy. Could you tell me which region or province does this town locate at? Also, what does Sel B. mean to? Thanks in advance.

Can you post the manifest, or the link to it, so we can view the entry?ItalUrgoGal wrote:According to the ship manifest, the last residence was South Villanova Sel B., Italy. Could you tell me which region or province does this town locate at? Also, what does Sel B. mean to? Thanks in advance.

I believe the comune that was his last residence was Villanova del Battista, in the Province of Avellino, Campania Region...
The LDS Family History Center holds microfilms of the vital records (births, marriages, deaths, etc.) of the town that you can rent and view.

If you wish, you can write directly to the town to request birth/marriage records.

Gelsomino Colantuono married my ancestor Maria Francesca Purcaro (Ariano di Puglia Irpino). The married on 12/9/1899 in Ariano. Her named is misspelled on the manifest. He was born circa 1876. His parents are Luigi Colantuono & Maria Sobatelli.
Maybe we can share more info.

Hello Donna
I am researching for my friend's husband's Colantuono side which he doesn't know very much about it. Gelsomino and Maria Francesca were his great paternal grandparents. The names of Gelsomino's wife and his parents are correct information. Do you have a copy of their marriage record and if applicable, with their birth certificates. Also, do you have Maria Francesca's parents' names?
I am glad that we can share more info. Be hearing from you.
