Hello, I recently found an 1879 New York State Marriage Certificate of my great-great grandfather, Vincenzo Cerullo. It clearly states his place of birth as "Barulla, Napolitano." The problem is that I cannot find any reference to any "Barulla" or place roughly similar to it.
Any guesses out there? I'm out of ideas...

Could it be that the name of the town is Barano, and the handwriting makes it look like Barulla?
