Troia, Italy

Postby gliesian66 » 03 Nov 2013, 04:26

Hi, can anyone tell me about Troia, Italy.

My great grandparents are from there.

I am curious as to what it was like to live there between 1850 and 1900?

Thanks,
Robert

Although these books do not specifically refer to the Foggia area, they are excellent works on the socio-economic conditions in Southern Italy after the Risorgimento, "push-pull" factors influencing emigration, and the emigrant experience on the trip over to L'America and the passage through the "Golden Door" (Ellis Island).

La Storia: Five Centuries of the Italian American Experience by Jerre Mangione and Ben Morreale

Under the Southern Sun by Paul Paolicelli
