Need help finding a town

Postby Mike Q » 07 Jan 2014, 16:10

Hi,

My family is from San Valentino Torio, a province of Salerno in the region of Campania. While searching ancestry.com I can get to the campania region but they don't seem to have any records for Salerno or San Valentino Torio. Do you know if any records exist for that town that could assist me with my ancestry search? I have the same problem with other relatives from Catania Sicily. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There are no online or microfilmed records for the town of San Valentino Torio. You would have to write directly to the town for info-

Ufficio Demografico - Anagrafe
Via G. Matteotti, 13
84010 San Valentino Torio (SA)
Italia

Fax: 081 5186672
e-mail: anagrafe@comune.sanvalentinotorio.sa.it

What town in Catania province do you need?

Thanks Erudita,

You saved me an awful lot of leg work. The town my relatives from Catania were from is Grammichele.

Thanks so much for your help!

Happy to help. Also glad that Marty noticed your reply and found that the Catania province town records are online. Good luck with those.

Edit: there are also church records for three parishes in the town on family search
