Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi

Postby Virginia » 23 Jul 2014, 21:45

Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi is listed on the Ellis Island immigration records when Nicola Fasano arrived 1909 in New York. Also when in 1913, the rest of his family, Anna Petito and his children Maria, Anthony and Carmelia.

I'm confused when I see:
Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi (AV), Campania, Italy

And also:
Italy, Avellino, Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi, Civil Registration (Tribunale)

Is Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi the village? What is Campania, and Avellino?

Thank you so much for your help.
