Maybe one of these days Family Search will get those records.
I have another town for you. For Benedetto Fabiano and Caterina Ribando which is #40 in the lower right, it looks like he is from Genua. Can that be Genoa? That would not seem right to me.
Yes, Chris, Genua is the Latin name of Genoa. The document though does say though- that he was from Genoa but was living in Piana delli Greci.
FYI-this was posted previously on the forum by suanj "In the past was Piana dei Greci is in Sicily, around Monreale, currently called Piana degli Albanesi.. are same town..in ancient past (1488) name town was HORA albanian word meaning "the Town"... after name town was Piana dei Greci why the people they conserved the Greek religion and customs and again and subsequently the name changed in Piana degli Albanesi http://www.pianalbanesi.it/hora.htm "
Benedetto was the son of Agostino and Caterina di Fabiano, a widower from Genoa who was living in Piana delli Greci. Caterina was the daughter of Pietro and Antonia Ribando. She was also a widow. I can't decipher her former first husband's name was the last name is Gianni of Monte.
