Perhaps it might relate to a marriage in 1837 since this combination of year and names keeps showing up. Peter

Hi Peter, Yes, it is in a marriage certificate. The groom Peter Riva was born in a town in Lago di Como area (Lake Como) area and I can't read the town. It may start with R, as when you look at the document, it says Peter Revas (or Rivas), born in ?? Lago di Como, and the letter R in Rivas is a perhaps similar to the first letter of the (indecipherable) town.

REBBIO is the town that falls within the orb of Lago Como's zip code 22100 and is the only town starting with the letter "R". Hope this helps. Peter

Hi

The reason I "suggested" Rovenna on the other related thread was because I had read somewhere that nowdays Rovenna is a frazione in the Province of Como - close to Cernobbio. (I'm always open to correction.) I also saw that there were records on line at Family Search for Rovenna, Province of Como.

https://familysearch.org/search/image/i ... %3D2043815

I basically see R.enna in the record.

Angela

You're welcome. It seems to fit so I hope it's correct.
