"How would I go about finding Fred's parents names?"

Using the information from the Social Security administration, write to Ohio for his death certificate. Have you tried to find the death record on Ancestry.com. There are Ohio records available (my subscription has expired so I cant look for you).

Do you have a copy of you parents marriage record? You seem to have alot of unknown and missing information. I realize you have trouble with your father from previous posts. Skip him. Get your parents marriage license (maybe your mom has a copy?) and start following the paper trail backwards.

Hi There,

Everyone gave you good clues. What you need to do is order the death certificate from Ohio. Ohio's fees just went up to $16.50 for a certificate.

Here is a link to show you where you can write for one. I suggest that you personally write and don't order it through the internet for they price could be triple the amount. So write directly to Ohio.

Here is the link
http://www.odh.state.oh.us/vitalstatist ... stats.aspx

Now the Death Certificate could list the parents' names on it or as VaDeb suggested, you can send away for the Social Security Application. The SS Application could have tons of clues on it. They cost $27.00.

Here is a letter for you

Re: Freedom of Information Act Request

Dear Freedom of Information Officer,

I am writing this request under the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. Section 552. I hereby request a copy of the SS-5, Application for Social Security Card, for the following individual:

Noce, Fred
278-18-3393
Birth: 30 Jun 1902
Death: Oct 1964

This individual is deceased, having been listed in the Social Security Administration's Death Master File. I understand the fee for this service is $27 for copy of original SS-5 application when the Social Security Number is provided. I am requesting a SS-5 copy. Included is a check for $27.00 made out to the Social Security Administration to cover any administrative costs required by this request.

Please respond to my request upon receipt of this initial correspondence. Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Sincerely,
Smile for me!:)

Hi There,

The rule of thumb with genealogy is to start with yourself and work your way backwards. We should start with your father and work backwards. I was getting a little confused with the Eduardo and Fred story, but I'll start with.....

If your grandfather's name was Fred born in 1902 in Ohio, then here is the information on Fred.

Here he is in the 1920 Census with his parents George (b. 1861 West Virginia) and Amanda (b. 1865 in Ohio )and his brothers, Flyod and Andrew. And there is a Harry Noce (b. abt 1896) also living on the same block in this census.

Name: Fred Noce
Age: 17 years
Estimated birth year: abt 1903
Birthplace: Ohio
Race: White
Home in 1920: Clayton, Perry, Ohio
Sex: Male
Marital status: Single
Relation to Head of House: Son
Able to read: Yes
Able to Write: Yes
Mother's Birth Place: Ohio
Father's Birth Place: Ohio
Image: 436
Image Source: Year: 1920; Census Place: Clayton, Perry, Ohio; Roll: T625_1426; Page: 1A; Enumeration District: 59; Image: 436

Here is the family in the 1910 Cesus. Per this census, George and Amanda were married about 1885 and had 7 children.

Name: George W Noce
Age in 1910: 50
Estimated birth year: abt 1860
Birthplace: West Virginia
Home in 1910: Clayton Twp, Perry, Ohio
Neighbors: View Results
Race: White
Gender: Male
Image Source: Year: 1910; Census Place: Clayton Twp, Perry, Ohio; Series: T624; Roll: 1222; Page: 29A; Enumeration District: 122; Part: 2; Line: 9

Here is the family in the 1900 Cenus.
Name: George W Noce
Home in 1900: Clayton, Perry, Ohio
Age: 40
Estimated birth year: abt 1860
Birthplace: West Virginia
Race: White
Relationship to head-of-house: Head
Image source: Year: 1900; Census Place: Clayton, Perry, Ohio; Roll: T623 1313; Page: 12A; Enumeration District: 57

Each census has clues especially the 1900 for it lists month and year born.

However, we need proof as to who your father's parents are and who the grandparents are.

Hi again,

I found this on the Ancestry.com World Tree. It was posted by Dawn. If you private message me, I'll give you her email address. I don't like just posting someone's email address without permission.

Name: George Noce
Sex: M
Birth: 9 APR 1860 in Taylor Co., VA 1
Death: 30 JAN 1937 in OH

Note:
Based on information from Virginia Nose Marshall, George was born George Washington Nose, in Taylor Co. VA. When he moved to Perry Co., OH, he changed the spelling of his last name to Noce, and all of his
descendents used that pelling.

Information from 1900 and 1910 Census (Clayton Twp., Perry Co., OH)
shows that George and his parents were born in West Virginia.

Information per obituaries at John McIntire Public Library in
Zanesville, OH

Father: Andrew W. Nose
Mother: Selah Celestial Snider

Marriage 1 Amanda Rutter b: 1866 in Perry Co., OH
