Where is Azibano, Novara?

Postby rlcalegari » 28 Mar 2016, 01:00

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to find where my family came from in Italy and the only information from where they came from is a note that says Azibano, Novara. They came to Brasil in 1889.
Does anyone knows where this place is?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Ricardo!

Where was the name of the place written? Is it possible to post it here?

Here is a link to the towns (comuni) of the Province of Novara.
I do not see anything similar to your "Azibano"... Perhaps it was written to mean "a Sizzano" :?:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c ... _of_Novara

Here is a list of frazioni/hamlets (small villages) of the Town of Novara
Lumellogno, Olengo, Pernate, Torrion Quartara, Agognate, Casalgiate, Cascina Montà, Cascina Roggia Mora, Gionzana, Pagliate

If you give us some details: names, ages, etc. - we may be able to help you search for their place of origin.

Hi,
just my opinion.. I believe that the birth town name could be Asigliano, and reading the bad transcription as Azibano... Asigliano in the past was in Novara province, but from 1927 became Asigliano Vercellese in Vercelli province ( very close)..
maybe, but it is hard to say if right or no...
