Just to add my two cent's worth...
There is a small town named SORICO in the Como province... but that is probably too far north.

Found this on the Pro Loco website of the town of Casamarciano, province of Naples:

http://www.comune.saviano.na.it/storia.asp

The town of Saviano ( a province of Naples since 1927) was born from the aggregation of Sant'Erasmo and Sirico (with Saviano).

To Maria (from another Maria)
I found the information searching in google but for Italian matters I always search on www.google.it and select the option of limiting the search to pages originating in Italy. I've always had great results with this search method.

Cool tip!!

My google results give me both English and Italian websites... but optioning to limit the search to just Italian pages is a great idea...

Here are driving directions from San Vitaliano to Saviano.
Hope you can view on your end...

Hello everyone!
I do the same on 'Ask Jeeves' I search on Italian and not on world web when I want something here in Italy. The beauty of 'Ask Jeeves' is that you can just ask a question - for example 'Who won the 1936 mens 100m Olympic final'?
Google finds it hard to cope with actual questions.

I also use this Italian site:
http://www.lifeinitaly.co.uk/

Once that opens there are several search engines/sites listed on the 'side bar' plus a great deal more information.

Hope it may be of some use to all you great 'researchers' - I do so envy you your skills....
