My eyes are going bonkers..

Do you need information about a certain town or village in Italy, or do you need help to find it on a map?
This forum will give you a helping hand.

My eyes are going bonkers..

Trying to decifer this birthplace. According to the 1930 Washington State census (which was a pretty unusual notation to be listed), Giovanni (John) Recchi was from the province of "Foggia". So was his wife and the man living next door. I realize an American English speaking enumerator most probably took down the name of his native town on this WWI Draft Card but I am hoping somehow what he DID write down might help establish his true birthplace in Italy.

here it is:

Thanks!

Hi James

You may want to check the manifest for the S.S. San Giogio which salied from Naples and arrived in NY 5/4/1911. Traveling were Marianina Colagrossi, (27) mother, Giovanni RECCHIA, (7), Angiolina (6), Concetta (4) meeting Husband/Father Liberato Recchia at 2649 Day St in Seattle. Also traveling from the same town were several people going to 2458 Atlantic in Seattle, only 4 blocks from Giovanni's address on the registration.
