Excellent resource for genealogical and historical data.
"One of the largest private archives of historical documents from the 1800s through 1954 with concentrations in Steamship and Ocean Liner documents and photographs, Passenger Lists, materials covering World Wars I and II, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and Immigration documents from Ellis Island, Castle Garden and other Immigration Stations."

Great site Biff. Found a story written by a woman who travelled from england to chicago in the same year as one of my ancestors. She gave a step by step account of her voyage. It put a human face to the ships manifests we read on here all the time.

Very nice immigrant sociology for the early turn of the century. To my mind there is only one other site inthe vast array of websites involving immigrants that peeled away the statistics, lists, names and dates to leave the humanity of immigration open to ponder. =Peter=
